For an upcoming collaboration, Italian eyewear brand Persol, who’s been framing faces to all the who’s who in Hollywood on and off the big screen for over a century. And British fashion label and designer JW Anderson that’s known for being on the cutting edge of fashion while pushing the boundaries of gender-bending narratives through his designs way before it became a trend. Come together for an unexpected venture that we certainly don’t deserve, but it’s what we totally need.

JW Anderson reimagined the iconic styles of Persol’s 649 and 009 frames by applying his colorful imagination inspired by the islands of Ibiza and his Northern Ireland heritage in conjunction with the pristine quality yet seamless design excellence that Persol is known for, to produce 4 color-way options for each style. Utilizing sustainably sourced acetate to style 649, a first of its kind to the brand, the vibe is to define a mood that shifts between hyper-contemporary and absolute classicism with a sense of superlatively functional extravagance.

To really amp up this project, the campaign features portraiture style images with models rocking sculptured-like hairstyles that echo the contours of the iconic 649 and 0009. Hair god Jawara set the tone with these creations while highly noted and sought after photographer Tyler Mitchell captured the moments.
